Bio

Demetrio Scopelliti was born in Reggio Calabria on March 5, 1954, the city where he attended the State Art School, obtaining the Diploma of Artistic Maturity with the evaluation of 58/60 and the Painting Course of the Academy of Fine Arts, obtaining the final evaluation of 110 with Praise.

During the period of his academic studies, he participates in several local and national artistic events.
His artistic production leads him to win extemporaneous painting competitions in which he participates and to receive appreciation both from critics and from the public for his personal works.

In 1976 he was appointed teacher of Painting at the State Institute of Art of Reggio Emilia and after having taught in Cosenza, S.Giovanni in Fiore (Cs), Cetraro (Cs), Catania, Capo d'Orlando (ME), Milazzo (ME) has been transferred permanently as a teacher of Painting and Decoration at the State Institute of Art Ernesto Basile of Messina, where he lives and works since 1991.

He resumed exhibiting his works after a long period during which he never interrupted the artistic activity.
